Course Overview

The BSS Diploma in Ultra Sonography Technician is a one-year intensive program designed to train students in the use of ultrasound technology for medical diagnostics. Also known as diagnostic medical sonography, this course covers theoretical and practical training in imaging various internal organs and monitoring fetal development during pregnancy.

Conducted by the GK Institute of Healthcare and Skill Development and certified by Bharat Sevak Samaj (BSS), Chennai, the course prepares students to operate ultrasonography machines, understand scan protocols, and assist radiologists and physicians in diagnostic procedures.

Ultrasound technicians (or sonographers) play a crucial role in modern healthcare by generating real-time images of organs, tissues, and blood flow to support clinical decisions.

Course Objectives

  • To provide a strong foundation in anatomy, medical imaging, and ultrasound physics

  • To train students in operating ultrasound machines and performing diagnostic procedures

  • To develop competency in both pregnancy and diagnostic ultrasound imaging

  • To promote ethical, safe, and patient-centered practices in medical imaging
